The home page is your gateway to the 511WI website. You can always get to the home page by selecting the “HOME” link at the top of the left-hand column of every page. The other way to get to the home page from anywhere in the site is to click on the wisDOT logo in the top left corner of the page.
Using the main menu at the top of every page, you can navigate to many sections of the 511WI website, including: Traffic, Extras, About, and My 511WI. Hovering over any of the main menu items using the mouse will cause a drop-down menu will appear, showing further navigation options. Simply click on the page you wish to navigate to.
Traffic provides information about the roads in the region, ranging from advisory alerts to travel times and map information.
Extras includes downloads, 511WI policy information, and API documentation for developers. To access the API documentation on the Developer Portal, you must create a Developer Account. Click on “Developer Portal” under the Extras menu to sign up.
My 511WI allows you to get traffic information tailored to your personal needs. For example, you can receive notifications about the road conditions for your route from home to work at a particular time every morning by email or SMS text message.
Using your My 511WI account, you can customize your preferences so we will send you the traffic information that is relevant to you, by email or SMS. There are many other features available to personalise your 511WI experience so that the traffic information provided is of the greatest benefit to you.
You can sign up for a free account or login to My 511WI from any page on the website using the My 511WI banner located above the main menu.
If you forget your password, simply click the Forgot my password? link, and we will email your password to your email address.
If you ever need to print a page, click the grey printer-friendly button on the upper right hand side of the window, below the search bar. You will be taken to a page specifically designed for printing website content.
